Nebraska Voters Information for political election and ballot information
If you're a Nebraska voter, you may want to check out the Voters Information Packet site before Tuesday. They have good information about local races and issues.
They do focus on the more populous eastern counties, but they also have resources for several things that affect the entire state.
I knew I liked Curt Schilling. Now I know why.
First he helps bring a title to the Red Sox. Now this.
This sounds like an urban legend, but it's apparently real.

Convivio
Convivio has a product called Buildfire that looks interesting. Following is the marketing description from their Web site:
"Buildfire is a Production Assistant for FrameMaker. It helps troubleshoot FM docs and streamline the document production process BEFORE you convert your sources to PDF (XML and HTML coming soon!). You can also use it to fully automate your production of PDFs. As one customer put it, BuildFire is an essential single-sourcing tool."
They offer a free demo, which I'm going to play with to see what it can do.
Everything Else Is Pointless
There's no reason for the candidates to debate, campaign, or shake hands. All that has no influence whatsoever over the Presidential election.
The only thing that matters is whether the Redskins win their final home game before the election.
Just another reason to cheer against the Packers. :-)
My good deed for the day
I was in Target for my lunch hour the other day, and I decided to get a bite at the food court. Our Targets have credit card readers that swallow your card until you sign the little screen, at which point they spit the card back out. As I approached the lunch counter, I noticed that there was a credit card sticking out of the reader. There was only one other person in the food court, so I asked her whether it was her card. She thanked me profusely, not believing her good fortune to have her card found by an honest person. :-)
Is there a draft in here?
John Kerry said that W has a secret plan to re-activate the draft. No one can find evidence of that, but Kerry himself--in a page that has disappeared from his Web site but can still be found at the Internet Archive--called for "a comprehensive service plan that includes requiring mandatory service for high school students and four years of college tuition in exchange for two years of national service."
Hmm.
